Karthik Subbaraj is one of the most popular and highly talented directors of Indian Cinema. He started off in Tamil Cinema but his name is familiar all over South Cinema Industry. His film, Jigarthanda is regarded as a huge achievement in the screenplay and Bobby Simha, the negative lead in his film, won National Award for his performance in the film. He is coming with a Silent thriller on 13th April, Mercury, with Prabhu Deva as the lead.
The director talked about the film to press recently. He said, “This is a most important film for me. After Jigarthanda, Pizza, Iraivi I wanted to explore the idea of a silent thriller film which has been rare in Indian Cinema. This is a very calculated experiment to provide a different type of entertainment to cinema lovers.”
He talked about his lifetime dream being realized, a movie with Superstar Rajnikanth. The director said, “I always wanted to make a film with Rajnikanth. During a meeting with him, I told a storyline and he liked it. He announced that we will be making film. The movie will be a complete action entertainer and I am writing the script. We will start the shoot after completing the script and I have another movie with Dhanush too, in the planning stage.”
