Indraganti Mohan Krishna has been working since a decade after his surprise out of box of movie, Grahanam. The movie won National Award and the director immediately chose to break the name of art director with Astha Chemma, the movie became a big hit and director continued to work on films that suited his style of work like Mayabazar, Golkonda High school and Anthaku Mundu Aa Taruvatha. The director made a name for himself beyond successes and failures. He went on to surprise his audience with films like Bandipotu and Gentleman.
Bandipotu did not work with audience and Gentleman became a huge success for the director and actors, Nani, Srinvas Avasarala. Now, the director is coming with another comedy, Ami Thumi starring Srinivas Avasarala, Adivi Sesh, Vennela Kishore. The director had many things to share in his press interaction. He said even though he trusted the script of Bandipotu the movie did not work because people expected a different comedy from him to what the movie had to offer. When asked about his successful movie, Gentleman, the director said he found a brilliant script and thought only Nani would be perfect for the protagonist role. He also shared that many have a misconception that he went to Nani to ask him for a movie after he hit a purple patch but he reminded that he took the script to him during Yevade Subramanyam and the actor said, yes, because he liked the script and not for him.
Indraganti Mohan Krishna said that he does not repeat Tanikella Bharani in his films has he looks at him as a lucky mascot but he likes the actor very much. Also, he said he wanted Srinivas Avasarala in the movie has he felt the script demanded such an actor and not because he wanted to continue Ashta Chemma casting in some way or the other for the movie. Ami Thumi, he said has given him Vennela Kishore and he wants to work with him in future as well. The director hoped the movie will find love among the audience and wished to continue on his journey devoid of worrying about the box office results.
