Last Friday saw a slew of new releases at the box office, including films like “Ambajipeta Marriage Band,” “Bootcut Balaraju,” “Happy Ending,” “Kismat,” “Dheera,” and “Game On.” However, the results turned out quite differently than expected, with only “Ambajipeta Marriage Band” managing to stand out among the rest.
Reports from the box office indicate that except for “Ambajipeta Marriage Band,” all other films faced significant challenges. Many of them had their shows canceled on single screens by Saturday, and by Sunday afternoon, those screens were replaced by Sankranthi movies again.
Even in multiplexes, several films struggled to sell more than five tickets for morning and matinee shows, leading exhibitors to opt for Sankranthi flicks to salvage their Sunday market. Despite actors and directors making pleas on social media and in front of cameras, the fate of these films ultimately hinges on their content.
Currently, “Ambajipeta Marriage Band” is enjoying a successful run, and if it continues to perform well on the first Monday, it could sustain its momentum for the week until bigger releases like “Eagle” hit the screens.
