Amazon Prime Video To Introduce Ads In India From June 17th

Starting June 17th, 2025, Amazon Prime Video will begin showing limited ads while streaming movies and shows in India.

All existing Prime members will see these ads, and no changes in membership or extra steps are needed. However, those who prefer an ad-free experience can opt for a new plan that comes at an additional cost.

Amazon clarified that the number of ads will be much lower than on regular TV or other streaming platforms. The current Prime subscription prices will remain the same, Rs. 299 (1 month), Rs. 599 (3 months), and Rs. 1,499 (12 months).

There’s also a basic Prime plan priced at Rs. 129/month or Rs. 699/year.

Earlier, Prime Video introduced ads in countries like the US, UK, Canada, and Australia. Now, India joins that list, giving viewers a choice between limited ads or paying extra for uninterrupted streaming.
