“Amaran” First Weekend Collections

Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi‘s film “Amaran” collected impressively over its first weekend. Produced by Kamal Haasan and directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, the film is an emotional biopic of the brave soldier Major Mukund Varadarajan, who was martyred in 2014. “Amaran” reached its break-even point in just three days and continued to perform strongly on its fourth day.

“Amaran” did theatrical business of around Rs. 4.45 crore in Telugu. To break even, it needed to earn a share of Rs. 5 crore. Remarkably, it reached the break-even point within three days and, by the end of four days, collected a share of Rs. 8.14 crore. This has already given the buyers a profit of Rs. 3.14 crore, earning the film blockbuster status. It remains to be seen how well it performs on weekdays.
