When Alia Bhatt showed up in her wedding saree to accept the Best Actress National Award for her work on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi, she attracted attention. The actress looked stunning in the ethnic, and everyone was thrilled to see her walk with confidence in her wedding gown once more.

After her husband Ranbir Kapoor took her selfies while she accepted the award for her performance in “Gangubai Kathiawadi” at the 69th National Film Awards, the actress explained why she had chosen to wear the same costume twice.

On her Instagram stories, Alia Bhatt wrote, “A special day calls for a special outfit, and sometimes that outfit is already there. What’s special once can be special again…and Again. #Rewear #Reuse #Repeat”

For those who don’t know, President Droupadi Murmu attended the 69th National Film Awards, which were hosted in the nation’s capital. Anurag Thakur, the minister of information and broadcasting, was also present for the event. Alia bowed and touched the stage floor as she entered the stage to accept the coveted trophy.

The actress wore an ivory wedding saree, which looked stunning. She paired her ensemble with similar earrings and a choker necklace, and she wore her hair up in a bun adorned with white roses. With just minimum makeup and a red bindi, she finished the appearance.

Alia clasped hands while grinning for the cameras. Actor Ranbir Kapoor, the actress’s spouse, escorted her to the ceremony.

While Alia accepted the prize, the actor, who was dressed in black, was photographed with her.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is the director of “Gangubai Kathiawadi,” which will be released in 2022. Ajay Devgn, Jim Sarbh, Vijay Raaz, and Shantanu Maheshwari are among the other actors in the film. The movie is on Gangubai Kothewali, whose life story was chronicled in S. Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai.

The movie follows the ascent of a poor Kathiawad girl who was forced to accept her fate and turn it to her advantage.

Regarding her career, Alia most recently starred with Ranveer Singh in the romantic comedy-drama “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani” as Rani Chatterjee. The actress appeared in American spy action thriller ‘Heart of Stone.’ The film stars Gal Gadot.
