Ali has explained why he decided to leave politics. He said his political involvement affected his film career and made him feel that his efforts were not valued.
Ali revealed that he never planned to enter politics for sure. In 1999 a political party invited him to join and he stayed with them for nearly 20 years.
However he claimed that he was mainly used during election campaigns and ignored after the elections.
Ali later joined another political party and continued his political activities but eventually realised that politics was not suitable for him. He said the film industry gave him his career, identity and livelihood.
Ali felt there was no reason to risk his film career for politics. He firmly stated that he has completely quit politics and will not return.
