Ali And Richa Support Bold New Film

Ali Fazal and Richa Chadha are producing Secrets of a Mountain Serpent through their banner, Pushing Buttons Studios.

Directed and written by Nidhi Saxena, the film will have its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival between August 27th and September 9th. After backing Girls Will Be Girls, this is their second independent film.

Secrets of a Mountain Serpent stars Trimala Adhikari and Adil Hussain and is co-produced with Forest Flower Films.

The script is set in a remote Himalayan town during the 1990s and follows Barkha a school teacher whose husband is stationed at the border. In a world filled with silence and absence she finds herself drawn to a mysterious outsider, Manik Guho.

Ali and Richa called Saxena’s vision lyrical, bold, and relevant. The director said the film explores women choosing desire over societal expectations. It finished filming recently and is now in post-production, ready for its international debut.
