Samrat Prithviraj, Selfiee, and Ram Setu were all box office duds, but did the producers incur significant losses as a result of these Akshay Kumar movies?
Akshay Kumar is among the highest earners in the movie business. He was renowned as the “hit” machine despite appearing in as many as 3–4 films each year. Since 2021, things haven’t been going well, and Akki has suffered many failures, including Selfiee, Bell Bottom, and Bachchhan Paandey. The makers, according to KRK, a self-described critic, have lost a stunning 600 crores.
Large expectations are placed on a movie featuring Akshay. He appears to be struggling with script selection, as evidenced recently by Raksha Bandhan, Ram Setu, and Selfies. He is even accused by some of working on projects solely for financial gain while disregarding the producer. Previous reports stated that he could charge as much as 100–150 crores for a film.
In a new tweet, KRK wrote, “Producers loss for last 5 films of @akshaykumar ! #Selfie – ₹100Cr loss. #RamSetu – ₹150Cr loss. #Rakshabandan ₹100Cr loss. #Prithviraj – ₹150Cr loss. #BachchanPandey – ₹100Cr loss. Total ₹600Cr loss. But he is still a star. How, I can’t understand.”
Well, those are some rather bold and unsettling accusations! As of now, neither Akshay nor any of the movie’s producers have responded to the tweet.
Akshay Kumar’s next film on the career front is OMG 2. In addition, he is working on Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Jolly LLB 3, and Hera Pheri 3.
