Akshay addressed claims that he is using his films to support the BJP, the political party in power, in the same interview. To this Akshay responded, “Lots of people say that they promoted Swachh Bharat Mission and I made Toilet: Ek Prem Katha,” dismissing all assertions. I created Mission Mangal when they were on a Mars Mission. Maine Airlift bhi banai, us waqt Congress ka raaj thi, aisa nahi hai. Nobody discussed that. Even Mission Raniganj takes place during the reign of Congress. It is about the vastness, goodness, and events that occurred. It makes no difference who was in charge. What counts is what was done for the betterment of the country.”

In the meantime, fans have had a mixed reaction to Akshay’s most recent movie, Mission Raniganj, which was just released. Parineeti Chopra is a co-star in the movie, which debuted to a Rs 2.75 crore opening day revenue.
