Akshay Kumar-R Madhavan’s Kesari Chapter 2 New Release Date Out

Actors Akshay Kumar and R Madhavan are coming together on screen for the first time in a film titled Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Chapter of Jallianwala Bagh. The film, which was earlier slated to release during the Holi festival, has now been pushed to April 18, 2025, the makers of the movie announced on Saturday.

The film is a spiritual follow-up to the 2019 film Kesari and is based on the life of India’s top barrister, C Sankaran Nair. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, the movie will also feature Ananya Panday.

Kesari Chapter 2 was previously scheduled to release on March 14, 2025. However, it was reported that Karan Johar wanted his upcoming film Dhadak 2 to occupy the same slot. Hence, the makers had to shift the release date.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared more details on his social media accounts. Bankrolled by Dharma Productions, Leo Media Collective, and Cape of Good Films, Kesari 2 is based on C Sankaran Nair’s life, who fought against the British Raj to uncover the truth about the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Punjab.

The upcoming project is adapted from the book The Case That Shook The Empire, written by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat. Raghu Palat is the great-grandson of C. Sankaran Nair. For the unknown, C Sankaran Nair was the former president of the Indian National Congress and a member of the Viceroy’s Executive Council.
