Akshay Kumar recently shared a disturbing cybercrime incident involving his 13 year old daughter. At the launch of Cyber Awareness Month 2025 in Mumbai, he revealed that a few months ago, while playing an online game his daughter was approached by a stranger.
The person first asked if she was male or female, and when she replied female, he demanded nude pictures. Thankfully, his daughter immediately stopped the game and informed her mother.
Akshay said he was relieved that she handled it wisely, but expressed concern that many children might not react the same way and could fall into traps of blackmail or even suicide.
Calling cybercrime a bigger threat than street crime he urged the Maharashtra Chief Minister to introduce a weekly “cyber period” in schools for classes 7 to 10, to educate children about online dangers.
His openness and appeal to spread awareness have been praised by many.
