After nursing a longish hangover of his first film, which turned out to be quite a dud at the box office, Akhil Akkineni is all set to start his second film. Sketchy details of the film are slowly coming out. Reports say Vamsi Paidipally, who was seen at the trailer launch of Oopiri with the Akkineni brothers, will be directing the film. Akhil had initially taken some time to give a nod, given that, his first film, Akhil: The Power of Jua directed by V. V. Vinayak failed to get the cash registers ringing.
Also, after Oopiri, both Nagarjuna and Akhil really liked Vamsi’s directorial prowess. “Nagarjuna had apparently asked Vamsi to come up with a good script for Akhil, which the Vamsi did manage to write, so now there are on to make the films” says a source. Vamsi has already narrated the story to Nagarjuna and Akhil and is now sprucing it up further. After Oopiri releases, Nagarjuna and Vamsi may publicly give out the details of the movie. Vamsi has not zeroyed in on a leading lady just yet but talks are reportedly on with a few top actresses in the industry.
