After the debacle of his debut film, Akhil took a sabbatical from work to rethink his future plans, while he announced few projects here and there nothing was confirmed solidified. His father and famous actor, Akkineni Nagarjuna had to intervene and bring a conclusion to his second film owes.Nagarjuna wanted to launch his son in a simple love story with Manam Vikram Kumar as director, but the director got busy with 24, produced and acted by Suriya and then got an offer from Allu Aravind to work with Allu Arjun. As Allu Arjun changed his initial plans after the release of Sarrainodu, he got busy with DJ – Duvvada Jagannadham directed by Harish Shankar under Dil Raju production, Vikram Kumar became available and Nag requested his friend Allu Aravind to release the dates of Vikram.

Vikram Kumar recently married his longtime girl friend and is busy with his honeymoon and other post marital activities. Akhil ‘s film is set to go on floor from November after Vikram becomes free and a final decision is taken on other cast and crew.Now the strong rumour is that Akhil will be seen as a Hindu boy growing up in Muslim home due to some reasons, yet to be disclosed.
