Everything began when a social media page claimed that Akhil Akkineni met director Prashanth Neel at NTR’s house.
Immediately, many people started spreading rumours that Prashanth Neel would direct Akhil’s next film, while others said one of Neel’s assistants would work with him.
The only truth is that Akhil, NTR, and Prashanth Neel spent some time together. All other reports are false. Akhil did not discuss any film with Prashanth Neel, they simply met casually in the evening.
Akhil has not signed a new project yet. Right now, he is completely focused on Lenin, his upcoming release. A few scripts are being worked on and they will be announced only after Lenin is out. As always, Akhil is not in a hurry and wants to make a strong comeback with this film.
Lenin is a realistic action drama set in Rayalaseema directed by Murali Krishna Abburu. Bhagyashri Borse plays the female lead. The film is expected to release in February 2026.
