Akhanda 2 has completed its first week in theatres and entered the second week but its box office performance has been weak this week. After the initial days, collections dropped sharply from the first Monday and continued to fall through the week.
The Hindi version failed to make an impact, as it could not even cross Rs. 1 crore in its entire first week across India.
This clearly shows that the film did not connect with North Indian audiences. Despite this Balakrishna has continued promoting the film in the North.
On Friday Balayya visited Varanasi along with director Boyapati Srinu and offered prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath temple. Speaking there he said audiences appreciated the film’s message based on Sanathana Dharma.
Akhanda was a big commercial success but the sequel has failed to recreate the same magic.
