Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has moved the Delhi High Court to protect her personality rights and prevent certain people from misusing her images and AI generated pornographic content.
This legal move could set a decent example for other actors who often become victims of explicit content created by anonymous social media users.
Senior advocate Sandeep Sethi, representing Aishwarya said the actress wants to enforce her publicity and personality rights.
Fake intimate images of her are being circulated online and some people are making money by using her name and likeness to satisfy others sexual desires, which is highly unfortunate. He emphasized that no one has the right to use her images, persona or likeness without permission.
During the hearing the Delhi High Court indicated it may issue an interim order to restrain the defendants from using her images.
The case is scheduled for further proceedings on November 7, 2025 and January 15, 2026. Earlier actors like Anil Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, and Jackie Shroff had filed similar petitions.
