Aishwarya Rai joins the shooting for her next

Legendary filmmaker Mani Ratnam has been shooting his ambitious epic multi-starrer Ponniyin Selvan for the past few years. Starring Bollywood stars Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Kollywood stars Vikram, Karthi, Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Keerthy Suresh, Aishwarya Lekshmi and other prominent actors in key roles, the film’s shooting is currently underway in Pondicherry.

Meanwhile, the latest we hear from our Kollywood sources is that star actress Aishwarya Rai has joined the film sets from today. Ponniyin Selvan is the only project Aishwarya Rai has signed in recent times as she has a good rapport with director Mani Ratnam.

Being bankrolled by Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies in association with Lyca Productions banner, this magnum opus will be out in two parts. The first part of the film will be out in April 2022. AR Rahman is scoring music for this high budget pan-India project.
