Raj Tarun and Shivani Rajshekhar’s web series Aha Naa Pellanta bankrolled by Tamada Media banner is out on the noted OTT platform, Zee5 today. Let’s see how it fares.

Story: Srinu (Raj Tarun) an easy-go-lucky guy from Rajamundry faces humiliation on the marriage day after the bride Sudha (Dipali Sharma) elopes with her boyfriend. At this sad stage, Srinu leaves Rajamundry and comes to Hyderabad. After landing in the city, Srinu gets to know about the actual reason behind the cancellation of his marriage through Mahendra (Posani). Who is Mahendra? How will he provoke Srinu? What will Srinu do later? How a girl name Maha enters his life? What kind of twists and turns will Srinu witness later in his life, forms the main crux.

Performances: Raj Tarun is impressive in his jovial yet painful youngster role. As always, in this series also Raj gave a convincing performance. His emotional performance during the last two episodes elevates the mood of his character.

Shivani Rajshekhar is adorable on screen and her performance as Maha is one of the major assets for Aha Naa Pellanta. Her facial expressions and ease of acting bring depth to the proceedings. The on-screen chemistry between Raj Tarun and Shivani Rajshekhar is an advantage for the show.

Harsha Vardhan and Aamani perfectly fitted as the hero parents. Thagubothu Ramesh is hilarious in a comic cameo. Getup Srinu is alright in his role as the hero’s neighbor. Posani Krishna Murali is okay in his comedy-coated greedy character.

Rajkumar Kasireddy, Ravi Siva Teja, Trishool are good in their fun-coated roles. Madhunandan is okay in his extended cameo role. Padding artists such as Vadlamani Srinivas, Mohammad Ali, Dipali Sharma, and Badram among others are decent in their respective roles.

Technicalities: The cinematography work by Nagesh Banell and Ashkar Ali is visible on screen as their captured both urban and rural setups in the series nicely by using appropriate framing and lighting.

Madhu Reddy’s editing work is slick. The music composed by Judah Sadhy is soothing. While the songs are situational and audible, the background score is apt for the genre.

Production values by Tamada Media banner are rich.

Analysis: Though Aha Naa Pellanta is a rom-com genre, director Sanjeev Reddy and team made sure that the presentation has freshness in it. While Sheik Dawood G’s screenplay is gripping throughout, dialogues written by Kalyan Raghav Pasapula are meaningful.

The character establishment during the initial episodes is done nicely. Though the show drops the pace midway, Sanjeev balanced the proceedings by incorporating an equal dose of fun and drama during the last two episodes. To summarize, Aha Naa Pellanta is a new-age web show that has impressive performances from the lead artists. Overall Aha Naa Pellanta is an engaging series to watch this weekend with family by sitting at home.

Verdict: Enjoyable romantic drama!
