It is widely known that the acclaimed Malayalam thriller, Drishyam 2 which had a direct OTT release on Amazon Prime Video a couple of months back is being remade in Telugu. Starring Venkatesh and Meena in the lead roles, Drushyam 2 ( Telugu title) has already wrapped up its shoot part and gearing up for a release in the next couple of months. Will the Telugu version have a theatrical release or opt for direct digital streaming? Is yet to be finalized by the makers.
Meanwhile, the latest news is that after Telugu, Drishyam 2 is all set to be remade in Hindi. Announcing the same, noted Bollywood production house Panorama Studios which acquired the rights has released an official press note.
Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak are going to bankroll Drishyam 2- The Resumption in Hindi. Ajay Devgn and Shriya, who acted as the lead pair in the first part of the Hindi remake of Drishyam will also be a part of the second installment? Needs to be seen.
Malayalam director Jeethu Joseph is the original creator of the Drishyam franchise.
