Adah Sharma On Her Diverse Film Career

Adah Sharma who debuted in the Hindi film 1920 and has Tamil and Malayalam roots is currently working on a Kannada and Hindi bilingual titled Devi.

She reflects, “Life feels full circle. I played a devil in my debut, and now I’m portraying a goddess”. Adah aspires to be recognized as a pan-Indian actor and is happy to have worked in 4 languages.

She feels there is no major difference in working styles between north and south industries but it depends on the director rather than language or region.

Chennai feels like home for her and she enjoys traditional foods. She is careful about sugar and her aunt prepares payasam with brown jaggery for her.

Calling herself “an outsider”, Adah says she is willing to do almost any role except nudity. Her recent film The Kerala Story won a National Award, which she finds encouraging. She concludes, “I take my work seriously, not myself”.
