Adah Sharma Honored As PETA India’s 2024 Person Of The Year

Actress Adah Sharma is known for her active participation in animal welfare. Recognizing her dedication she has been named PETA India’s 2024 Person.

One of her contributions in 2024 was partnering with PETA India to donate a life size mechanical elephant to a temple in Kerala. This was to honor the temple’s decision to stop using live elephants for ceremonies.

Adah has also brought attention to cruelty in the fashion industry. She starred in a striking PETA campaign, appearing as though “skinned alive” to highlight the suffering of over 1.4 billion animals killed annually for their skins.

Through this she urged people to choose cruelty free fashion and embrace ethical alternatives. Adah modeled in PETA India first vegan fashion lookbook and encouraged her 10 million Instagram followers to adopt sustainable, vegan clothing.

Beyond fashion Adah hosted a Christmas party for chickens rescued from slaughterhouses, protested against horse drawn carriages in Mumbai and raised awareness about the exploitation of birds with a powerful caged protest. She also starred in a mermaid themed campaign urging people to stop eating fish.

Adah joins a distinguished group of past recipients of PETA India’s Person of the Year Award.

Reacting to the honor Adah said “When you realize the similarities we share with other animals who feel love, pain, joy, and fear just like us it’s natural to do everything possible to spare them from suffering. I’m proud to stand with PETA India in promoting kindness and respect for all living beings”.
