Actress looking to balance North and South!

Yesteryear divas like Jayapradha and Sri Devi had great success in South Cinema and North Cinema as well. Until Sri Devi started looking elder to young heroes she acted in Telugu and Tamil as well along with acting in Hindi after Nagin series and Mr. India. Like her, Ramyakrishnan, Nagma did try to balance both the worlds but if they were successful in one industry they were not so much in other. Now, the actresses like Kajal Aggarwal, Tamannah, Rakul Preet are trying to balance between both the worlds with many interesting movies.

Kajal Aggarwal opined, “ As an actor I started with South Cinema and there is absolutely no way that I will leave South to enjoy a successful career in North. I’m more than happy balancing both the worlds and as an actor you’ve to do your best with the opportunities you have and leaving one industry in my mind is like limiting yourself.” Tamannah wondered why her South offers are reducing even though she has learned the languages and can dub in Telugu and Tamil as well.

She said, “ I’m not being unreasonable to any producers in my remuneration quotes and I don’t understand how these rumours are spreading about me. I’m as South Indian as I’m North Indian. For me both Hindi and South Cinema are same.” Rakul who is now doing her second Hindi film with Siddharth Malhotra said, “ It all depends on balancing your job and as an actor you have to give your time equally to the films and then try to cater to the taste of the local audience and not look to limit yourself in terms of language or performance.”

Even though these actresses are positive but there is a popular observation that actresses do not have as much as career life span as actors and even Sri Devi who worked for more than 20 years wondered why. She said, “ In our days, we did not have these many ways to train ourselves ready to show our best in the first film itself. But the actresses these days are able to do so and they are learning dancing, action and swimming as well and we needed a lot of time to achieve the kind of prowess they show in their debut, but I wonder why are they unable to sustain for longer periods.” In any case, the actresses are putting extra efforts to please the audience of South and North and we are not complaining until they manage to showcase their best in the films.
