In an interview, Raashii Khanna spoke about the need for human and manageable working hours for actors. With the current discussion in the Indian film industry about regulating work hours, she said actors should also have a proper work-life balance.
Raashii explained that she understands the producers side too, as earning money from films has become harder. Many people watch movies on OTT instead of going to theatres, so producers face losses and expect actors to work 12–16 hour shifts.
She said that, humanly, 12 hours should be the maximum. Though some producers allow actors to leave in 10 hours, she has also worked 15–16 hours due to location issues or high shooting costs.
For now, she is okay with it, but in five years, she might prefer 8–10 hours to balance her personal life better.
She feels work hours should be decided through a clear discussion between the actor and producer.
