Suman had developed a political interest and joined the TDP in 1999 in the then-unified Andhra Pradesh.
Suman Talwar, a seasoned actor from South India, has declared his intention to run for office.
At a presentation in Andhra Pradesh’s West Godavari district, the actor declared that he would support Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in Telangana.
Suman Talwar remained mum about which party he will support in Andhra Pradesh, although signs point to him returning to the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
Suman Talwar had started an interest in politics by joining TDP in 1999 in the then undivided Andhra Pradesh. In 2004, after receiving no acknowledgement from the party, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He had stayed out of politics because he was not given a significant position within the BJP.
Suman recently came to Rajinikanth’s defence over comments he made at the Vijayawada celebrations honouring the famous actor and former chief minister N. T. Rama Rao’s 100th birthday.
Rajinikanth’s speech in which he lauded former chief minister and TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu sparked a heated response from the ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP).
Suman Talwar had claimed that Rajinikanth’s statement was appropriate because he did not disparage any party or leader. According to the actor, the superstar accurately described Chandrababu Naidu. He emphasised that Hyderabad’s transformation and growth as an information technology centre were greatly influenced by Naidu.
Ups and downs are typical in politics, Suman had previously said. He added that mistakes were made while Chandrababu Naidu was in power.
Over the course of a 45-year acting career, Suman Talwar appeared in 700 films in 10 different languages. The 63-year-old actor is primarily recognised for his roles in Telugu and Tamil movies.
