Actor Nikhil Issues a Statement on Bollywood and its Audience Connection!

As Nikhil Siddhartha’s all-Indian film Spy hits theatres, he spoke up on his relationship with Subhas Chandra Bose, Karthikeya 2’s success, his 16-year journey, and more.

Telugu cinema’s young and emerging star is Nikhil Siddhartha. The actor, whose career in the film business began with Happy Days, carved out a position for himself as a pan-Indian celebrity with his most recent box office smash Karthikeya 2. His next appearance on the big screen will be in the pan-Indian spy movie Spy, which is based on Netaji Subash Chandra Bose. The actor spoke candidly about Spy, Karthikeya 2’s popularity, the size of the Indian market, and other topics during a conversation as the movie launched today.

In response to a question about the movie’s relationship to freedom fighter Subhash Chandra Bose, Nikhil said, “It’s not a biopic; simply a few incidents from Netaji’s film, his disappearance, a few untold facts, and more. We discuss the events surrounding Independence or discuss Netaji in depth. Rana Daggubati makes a brief cameo appearance in the film, which also stars Abhinav Gomatam, Iswarya Menon, Aryan Rajesh, and Sanya Thakur and is directed by first-time director and film editor Garry BH.

Like every movie, the actor admitted that he was terrified of Spy, but he insisted that there would be no controversy because it was a clean production. Additionally, he indicated that Spy will be a clean family film. Like every movie, this one also gave me some anxiety. However, the movie merely portrays the reality of Netaji’s adherence to the truth and refusal to alter history. The movie has a larger message and is based on some of the significant occasions in his life. There won’t be any controversy at all because we have a clear U/A certificate without any censorship cuts. The actor responded, “If you see the movie, you’ll understand,” when asked if he was concerned about the subject and the reaction of the crowd.

Since Spy is the first movie in the spy thriller genre, he is quite enthusiastic about it. He claimed to have been a fan of Jason Bourne and to have aspired to create an espionage thriller. It’s a genre that I’ve always enjoyed. I’ve always wanted to act in a spy thriller as someone who defends the nation ever since I first watched Jason Bourne, Mission Impossible, and all those flicks. This film is a fantastic fusion of history and a thriller, with many twists and turns. Nikhil Siddhartha plays a spy sent on a mission to obtain the documents and exact revenge for his brother’s passing.

Along with Jr. NTR, Ram Charan, and Allu Arjun, Nikhil Siddhartha was one of these actors who helped Telugu film gain popularity in the north with Karthikeya 2. The audience responded really well to the movie. “I’m grateful to be representing Telugu cinema and I have received so much love from the audience,” the actor stated when asked about his opinions on it. We didn’t anticipate that so many individuals in North India, particularly in the Hindi-speaking region, would own this movie. However, I have since simply focused on getting better with each new film. I don’t want to take the support of the crowd for granted. The 38-year-old actor continued by saying that in addition to the pressure, he also has a duty to uphold the expectations of his fans.

For the uninitiated, the actor’s movie Karthikeya 2, which was released last year, competed at the box office with blockbusters like Lal Singh Chaddha by Aamir Khan and Raksha Bandhan by Akshay Kumar and won. The movie performed remarkably well and set records at the Hinid box office. He responded, “See, I’m not here to criticise any movie but I think Bollywood is not connected to its audience. I think South has overtaken Bollywood with films like RRR, Pushpa, Karthikeya 2, and more.
The actors and producers in the South are deeply ingrained and connected to the local audiences, and they produce films appropriately. Bollywood’s blockbuster films lack an understanding of what people want. We in the South are aware of what people want and anticipate, which may be a crucial element.

Nikhil has spent 16 years as an actor in the Telugu cinema industry, and when he reflected on his path, he grinned and remarked, “My journey has been a roller coaster ride. Despite some setbacks and coming from a non-film background, I believe I have succeeded. You understand how crucial it is to persevere. Even in this movie, there is a dialogue that says the only victor is the one who can endure against all circumstances. I believe I have been doing this for 16 years at this point.

Nikhil, however, also thinks that his wife Pallavi Varma has been his lucky charm in addition to his hard work. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown, the actor, who recently married, has been leading a happy personal and professional life. Yes, I do think she is my fortunate charm, he said in his conclusion. She has been a rock for us ever since we were married. And because life hasn’t changed, I feel like I’m married too. She is aware that I couldn’t offer her my time because Spy had two promotions in a row.
