Abhishek Banerjee recently revealed that he will not be portraying Shah Rukh Khan in Ayushmann Khurrana’s Dream Girl 2.
Abhishek Banerjee, an actor and casting director who will shortly appear in the comedy film “Dream Girl 2,” revealed that he will portray Shah Rukh in the movie—not the Bollywood megastar, but a common guy who is suffering from despair. In reality, the actor believed that his role in the movie would involve SRK or, at the absolute least, a romance character.
Abhishek Banerjee, who is well recognised for his versatility, has worked on a number of films, including “Mirzapur,” “Stree,” “Bhediya,” “Paatal Lok,” and others.
Speaking about his character, he revealed, “My character’s name in the film is Shah Rukh, which initially led me to wonder if I was supposed to portray the real Shah Rukh Khan or a romantic character. However, after reading the script, I discovered that this character is entirely different.”
Talking about the vulnerable side of his character, Abhishek revealed “He is a person struggling with depression and sadness, but when he encounters Pooja, he finds a glimmer of hope in his life.”
Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday both appear in “Dream Girl 2,” the follow-up to the superpopular 2019 film that starred Ayushmann Khurrana. A talented cast of performers, including Paresh Rawal, Asrani, Annu Kapoor, Manjot Singh, Rajpal Yadav, Manoj Joshi, Seema Pahwa, and Vijay Raaz, joins them on this hilarious voyage and is ready to provide a performance that will delight the audience.
The movie, which will be directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa and produced by Ektaa R. Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor, is set to open in theatres on August 25, 2023.
