Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have filed a Rs 4 crore lawsuit against Google and YouTube over the misuse of their images and videos in AI-generated deepfakes.
The couple, who have previously defended their personality rights, allege that the platforms allowed manipulated content to spread without proper checks.
Reports say the Bachchans are concerned about YouTube’s content moderation and third-party AI training policies, which they claim encourage abuse. Court documents mention that using such content to train AI could multiply misuse, as clips first appear online and are later used in AI models.
The complaint highlights sexually explicit and harmful deepfake videos circulating online. Few channels, reportedly hosts over 250 manipulated clips, some with millions of views, including doctored videos showing Aishwarya with Salman Khan and altered sequences of Abhishek reacting or kissing actresses.
The Delhi High Court has asked Google to provide a detailed response, with the next hearing scheduled for January 15th. Professionally, Abhishek is working on King and Raja Shivaji, while Aishwarya has no confirmed projects yet.
