He called it outdated and a product of a patriarchal society. In an interview, Aamir expressed concern about how some films promote male dominance, saying, “It’s not good”.
“It sets us back by a decade, which is unfortunate. While everyone has their own views, many openly or subtly support patriarchy. This is something we need to address”.
Aamir also highlighted the role of storytelling in gradually changing mindsets and society. Aamir acknowledged that filmmakers and audiences alike play a role in addressing this issue.
He expressed hope that cinema, as a powerful medium, can gradually challenge and reshape patriarchal attitudes, inspiring a more inclusive and progressive outlook.
