Sunny Deol and Aamir Khan reportedly had different views about the OTT release of Batwara 1947, earlier titled Lahore 1947.
According to reports, an OTT platform offered more than Rs 60 crore for the film’s digital rights. Sunny reportedly wanted to accept the deal, while Aamir preferred to explore another release strategy.
The report claims Sunny had a 50 percent profit-sharing arrangement, making the offer financially important for him.
However Aamir reportedly rejected it. With the film struggling at the box office its digital value is now said to have dropped to around Rs 30 crore.
Despite the reported differences, Sunny and Aamir continued promoting the film together. Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, Batwara 1947 was released on August 14th and stars Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi and Karan Deol.
