During the pandemic, Aamir Khan thought about quitting acting and leaving Bollywood, but his family convinced him otherwise. After “Laal Singh Chaddha” received a mixed response, he took a break to focus on his family.
Now, Aamir is working on six new projects, a first in his career. In a recent interview, he explained that this decision came from realizing these might be his last 10 active years, saying, “We might die tomorrow”.
Aamir, plans to work actively until 70, hoping to make the most of his remaining years. When his ex-wife Kiran Rao reminded him of Clint Eastwood, who still works at 97, Aamir joked that Eastwood is an exception, not the norm.
Aamir also expressed a strong desire to support young talents like writers and directors, which is one reason he’s taking on more films. He wants to help nurture fresh talent before retiring.
He humorously shared how he once mentioned retirement plans to his family, and his daughter jokingly said, “Papa, if you spend all your time with us, we’ll go crazy!” Aamir laughed it off, saying he looks forward to retirement to read books and practice yoga.
