Aamir Khan Faces Fatwa After Marrying Gauri Spratt

Aamir Khan has reportedly faced a fatwa after marrying Gauri Spratt, a non-Muslim, in a private registered ceremony on July 5th.

The issue has drawn attention because it is Aamir’s third marriage and Gauri does not follow Islam.

Shahi Chief Mufti Maulana Ibrahim Hussain said that, according to his interpretation of Islamic law, a Muslim man should marry a Muslim woman and he claimed that such a marriage goes against Sharia.

He also said Aamir should repent for his decision. The fatwa has sparked debate on social media. Aamir and Gauri have known each other for over long 20 years.

The actor introduced her publicly earlier this year during his 60th birthday celebrations.
