Aadavallu Meeku Johaarlu starring Sharwanand and Rashmika Mandanna as the lead pair has hit the screens today. Let’s analyse it.
Story: Grown up in a family atmosphere, Chiru(Sharwanand) , a well brought guy coincidentally meets Aadhya( Rashmika Mandanna) and falls for her. When Chiru expresses his love, Aadhya shocks him by saying that her life is completely under the control of her mother Vakula( Kushboo). Rest of the story deals with how Chiru manages to impress Vakula to gain Aadhya’s love.
Performances: Sharwanand is okay with his screen presence and gave a convincing performance as a guy in desperation to get married. While Sharwa’s acting brings depth to the proceedings to an extent, his appearance and body language is same like how we have been seeing him for the past few years.
Rashmika Mandanna gets a strong role but her role is not established in a proper manner. Her chemistry with Sharwa is also not showcased in a decent way.
Senior artists like Radika, Kushboo, Urvashi, Jhansi, Satya are apt as family ladies. Other artists who played supporting roles are just okay with their acting.
Technicalities: Music by Devi Sri Prasad is a major disappointment for the film as his songs or background score do not register. His regular template sounding and instruments disconnect with the audience.
The cinematography by Sujith Sarang is nice as he showcased the entire film with a colourful texture. Editing work by A Sreekar Prasad is not up to the mark.
Production values for this star-studded film are good and so is the case with the premise created.
Analysis: Director Kishore Tirumala’s thought of exploring family emotions in a joint family by interlinking the proceedings with the love story between the lead pair is not a bad idea. But his cliched presentation disappoints big-time.
The lack of proper character establishment scenes and outdated melodrama episodes are the main blender for the film. Adding to it, the way Kushboo character is designed suffers from poor scene order and abrupt presentation.
If the director would have worked on the screenplay version at the scripting stage itself the result would have been much better.
To summerize, Aadavallu Meeku Johaarlu is an outdated family drama that lacks emotional connectivity. Along with it, the predictable narration and routine template treatment dilutes the film completely.
Verdict: Only for performances!
