Ram Pothineni’s much-awaited The Warrior, directed by N Linguswamy, was released on the 14th, and as expected, the film opened to average numbers due to the incessant and heavy rains in the Telugu states. As the rural areas of Telangana have been massively hit due to floods, there hasn’t been much revenue generated from the area, leaving the revenue to be generated from just Andhra Pradesh.
The film ended up collecting Rs. 7.3 Crores on the first day as a result, and since early premier shows were avoided in the USA, the film grossed just $40K (Rs. 32 Lakhs) from Thursday previews. The film is now heavily dependent on how it is going to perform during the weekend, on Saturday and Sunday, which will account for most of the film’s revenue.
On the other hand, the film has also been released in Tamil Nadu, on a grand scale, as Linguswamy is the director. The collections for the film in Tamil Nadu are yet to be revealed.
