August has been a relatively successful month for Tollywood, when compared to the last few months, where there was a devastating dry spell, with no film managing to engage the audeince and sustain at the box office. With Liger set to be the last release of August, set to arrive on August 25th, Tollywood is preparing for September already. As many as ten films are gearing up for release in the month.
On September 2nd, Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga is set to be released, while on September 9th it is Oke Oka Jeevitham, Gurthunda Seetakalam and Nenu Meeku Baaga Kavalsinavaadini. On September 15th, it is Laththi (Vishal’s Dubbed Film); on September 16th, Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali and Saakini Daakini. on September 23rd, Alluri and Krishna Vrinda Vihari; and on September 30th, Ponniyan Selvan 1 (Mani Ratnam’s Dubbed Film)
There’s a decent buzz surrounding some of these films, and while nothing can be assumed right now, it is safe to say that some filsm might surprise the audience, and some might just unpleasantly shock them. It is to be seen how Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan would do though, given that it’s his dream project, and the film seems to be holding a lot of promise.
