A monumental task to recreate Savitri Jewellery

Legendary actress, Savitri is being celebrated by filmmaker Nag Ashwin ang his team with the support of Swapna Media and Vyjayanti films as producers. The movie is titled, Mahanati and Keerthi Suresh, Dulquer Salmaan are playing the lead roles in the movie. Also, Samantha Akkineni, Vijay Devarakonda are the leads of the story. They will bring out all the truth behind the image of Savitri and what was she like in real life.

The movie is bombarded with cameos from Naga Chaitanya Akkineni, Mohan Babu, director Krish and many more who are connected to the journey of Savitri. Recently released songs have become the talk of the town. Mickey J Mayer came up with the score and songs for the movie. To create the bygone era of 50’s and 60’s, you need art department to work over time and since, the actress is part of a time when gold is seen as a status symbol and her ornaments in various films have a great iconic value. So, the team went ahead to spend as much as they off the budget for jewellery.

Delhi merchant, L.Bhagranj Pershad Jewellers’ team created the ornaments of Savitri for the film. They took references from old classics of the actress like Mayabazaar, Devdas, Pelli Chesi Choodu and 60 other films to design the changes in the gold ornaments she wore on screen. Also, they went through a lot of research to produce the jewellery she wore outside the films, in real world. Totally 15 goldsmiths worked on it and it is a monumental task for them. Mahanati is releasing on 9th May.
