OTT platforms have become all the rage, thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, and the shutting down of theatres across the globe. The Indian Film Industry, and especially Tollywood, are also slowly warming up to this concept, with several actors focusing equally on OTT content, as much as on theatrical content.
According to the latest reports, Daggubati actors Venkatesh and Rana have reportedly signed up for a multistarrer project for Netflix. This web series is reportedly going to be a thriller series, which is going to be helmed by a Tamil director. It is already known that Rana was negotiating a deal with Netflix for the direct OTT release of his upcoming film Virata Parvam. It is now being said that this deal was made along with that.
On the other hand, the Daggubati family has been eyeing OTT releases in recent times, with producer Suresh Babu having opted for direct OTT releases for Narappa, Drushyam 2 and even Virata Parvam. WHile Narappa is about to release on Amazon Prime on July 20th, the release dates of Drushyam 2 and Virata Parvam are yet to be announced. Suresh Babu clarified that he took this decision despite the massive backlash, keeping in mind the ongoing pandemic.
