A movie that put Vidya Balan on the list of everyone’s favourite heroine and was based on Southern Siren Silk Smitha! Now the buzz is another sexy diva is going to get a biopic to her name. A filmmaker has now expressed interest in making a movie on actress Shakeela, who became famous with her role in soft porn movies. A Kannada Indrajit Lankesh has taken up the subject and the film will go on floors by the end of this year.
Shakeela mostly acted in film industries of Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam languages. She began her journey as an actor in B-grade movies in the early 1990s. She shot to fame with the Tamil B-grade movie, Playgirls at the age of 20. She is often referred to as the successor to Silk Smitha. The filmmaker revealed that “Huma Qureshi will be the lead in this film and we’re planning to make it in Hindi shortly.”
