The last time that Tollywood saw any big releases was way back in Summer, when Prabhas’s Radhe Shyam and Rajamouli’s RRR were released, within a two weeks’ gap. Since then, there hasn’t been a single big film. While there were releases like Acharya and Sarkaru Vaari Paata, the former turned out to be a major disaster, and the latter turned out to be just passable.
Since 2022 summer releases, Tollywood saw a very disappointing period, where not a single film managed to impress the audience and become a box office success. Things were quite bad until August, when Sita Ramam and Bimbisara marked the first set of hits for the industry in over three months. Karthikeya 2 followed up these hits in a grand way, and only Sharwanand’s Oke Oka Jeevitham managed to impress the audience since then, with other films turning out to be duds.
With that being said, there’s not a single big film or a film with a huge buzz that is set to be released until Sankranthi. While there are films like Godfather and The Ghost, they aren’t the stereotypical huge films that manage to encourage the audience to go to the theatres.
