A Dream Journey: Monisha Blessy’s Rise In Cinema

Monisha Blessy, known from reality TV, made her film debut with Sivakarthikeyan’s Maaveeran and later acted in Rajinikanth’s Coolie and Vijay’s Jana Nayagan.

She feels lucky to get such big films so early. “I thought it would take years to be part of projects like these. It feels like both pressure and a blessing,” she says.

In Coolie, she played Sathyaraj’s daughter. On her first day, she had an emotional scene with Rajinikanth and Shruti Haasan, which felt like a dream. She says working with Vijay sir in his last film Jana Nayagan was an unbelievable opportunity.

Before films, Monisha faced many rejections. Even for Cooku With Comali, she was not selected initially. She credits director Madonne Ashwin of Maaveeran for giving her the first break.

Now, she is working in Lawyer with Vijay Antony and another untitled film with Anna Ben. Monisha says her only focus is to perform well, not chase lead roles.
