Keeping his ambitious vigilante drama, Indian 2 ( Bharatheeyudu 2 in Telugu) aside, ace director Shankar announced his next project with Mega Powerstar Ram Charan a couple of months back. This massive pan-India project will be bankrolled by top Telugu producer Dil Raju and is expected to go on the floors from the second half of 2021.
Meanwhile, the latest news is that even before going on the sets, Ram Charan- Shankar’s project faced a big jolt in the form of Lyca Productions. As per the reports from the Kollywood media, the management of Lyca Productions approached Madras High Court against Shankar for not completing Indian 2.
News is also that Lyca Productions has asked the court to prevent Shankar from doing other films as they have already spent Rs 180 crores on Indian 2 which is now left incompleted due to lack of support from Shankar.
In February 2020, after the tragic fire accident that claimed the lives of three team members on the sets, the Indian 2’s shooting was stalled and never resumed later.
A section of media also reported that miffed with the no-hurry attitude of Lyca Productions, Shankar kept Indian 2 aside and announced his next with Mega Powerstar Ram Charan. Now, with the fresh hurdles, how will the trio Shankar- Dil Raju- Ram Charan deal with the circumstances? remains to be seen.
