83 And Still Going Strong: Ilaiyaraaja Thanks Fans

Ilaiyaraaja celebrated his 83rd birthday today as hundreds of fans gathered at his residence to greet him and express their love.

Born on June 3rd 1943, Ilaiyaraaja personally met fans, well wishers and thanked everyone for their lovely warm wishes.

Speaking to the media Ilaiyaraaja said he was overwhelmed by the affection he continues to receive and became much emotional while talking about the support from fans and celebrities without fail.

Even at 83 also Ilaiyaraaja remains highly active in the industry. He continues to compose music and recently announced new projects.

Over a remarkable career spanning more than five decades he has composed music for over 1500 films. His contribution to cinema is immense and he won National Awards.
