On Tuesday, President Droupadi Murmu gave Alia Bhatt, Allu Arjun, and other worthy nominees the 69th National Film Awards.
Tuesday’s 69th National Film Awards in the nation’s capital featured a convergence of ages and fashion trends as President Droupadi Murmu paid tribute to actresses who made headlines, including Waheeda Rehman, Alia Bhatt, Allu Arjun, and Kriti Sanon.
For her services to Indian film, Rehman received the Dadasaheb Phalke Lifetime Achievement Award. She looked stunning as always, wearing a cream and golden saree with matching green earrings and necklace, her hair pulled back in a bun.
The President praised Rehman and stated that her work and demeanour had made her the best in the business.
“The award ceremony paints a picture of the diversity of India and the unity inherent in it,” the President added, speaking about the Awards. The gifted individuals in attendance have provided insightful interpretations of many languages, regional traits, societal ideologies, accomplishments, and issues.
The President stated her belief that, in a nation endowed with a wealth of talent, those in the film industry will continue to push the boundaries of creativity and that films will be crucial to the development of a modern India.
Sardar Udham, a biographical historical drama film, won the National Award for Best Hindi Film in 2021. The director of the picture, Shoojit Sircar, accepted it. Vicky Kaushal plays the lead role in the film.
Additionally, “Sardar Udham” won prizes for Best Production Design, Best Costume Designer, Best Audiography, and Best Cinematography (Avik Mukhopadhyay).
For her role in “Gangubai Kathiawadi,” directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Alia Bhatt was named Best Actress. She attended the ceremony wearing her wedding saree. Her spouse, the actor Ranbir Kapoor, was with her, busy taking her shots.
In addition, Kriti Sanon won Best Actress for her work in “Mimi.” In a cream and multicoloured saree with a golden border, the actress looked stunning. She wore her hair in a bun and went for a subtle cosmetic style.
Allu Arjun, a celebrity from Tollywood, won Best Actor for “Pushpa: The Rise.” He was dressed in customary white. Devi Sri Prasad won the Best Music Direction award, which went to the film as well.
“Rocketry: The Nambi Effect,” R. Madhavan’s first feature film, won Best Feature Film.
The popular film “RRR,” directed by S.S. Rajamouli, was named the winner of the “Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment” category. Additionally, M.M. Keeravaani got the Best Music Direction award for the film.
Additionally, Best Special Effects, Best Choreography, and Best Action Direction Award (Stunt Choreography) were given to the epic action drama film “RRR.”
Renowned director Sanjay Leela Bhansali won the Best Editing prize for his work on “Gangubai Kathiawadi.” Additionally, the movie won prizes for Best Make-Up Artist and Best Screenplay.
The song “Maayava Chaayavaa” from the Tamil film “Iravin Nizhal” won Shreya Ghoshal the Best Female Playback Singer award. Additionally, Kaala Bhairava won the Best Male Playback Singer award for her performance in the Telugu version of the movie “RRR” with the song “Komuram Bheemudo.”
The Kashmir Files, directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, won the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration. Pallavi Joshi won the Best Supporting Actress prize for her performance in “The Kashmir Files,” while Pankaj Tripathi was named the Best Supporting Actor winner for his work in “Mimi.”
Bhavin Rabari won the Best Child Artist award for his role in the Gujarati movie “Chello Show.”
The Sidharth Malhotra film “Shershaah” won the Special Jury Award. It went to director Vishnu Varadhan.
