38 years for Megastar Chiranjeevi!

Shiva Sankara Vara Prasad not many know him by this name but he is the man who revolutionised Telugu cinema with his dances and style. He started his life from a humble background and wished to become the popular actor but he was able to become an icon among his contemporaries with his style and attitude.He slowly but surely established his mark of acting with the guidance from masters like Bapu, K Vishwanath, K Balachander in his early years. He made successful combination with then upcoming filmmakers, Kodanda Ramireddy and Kodi Ramakrishna.

He created history at box office with films of K Raghavendra Rao and showed his acting prowess in films of Balachander and BharatiRaja. His films with Kodanda Ramireddy, Challenge, Vijetha, Khaidi No. 786, Abhilasha, Kondaveeti Donga, above all Khaidi made him the star he is today! He danced like Michael Jackson after Thriller released and it garnered International fame for his dancing abilities. He is the only star hero who scored blockbusters after blockbusters in Telugu cinema during the late 80’s and early 90’s with Jagadekaveerudu Athiloka Sundari, Gangleader, Rowdy Alludu and Gharana Mogudu. This mage him All India famous and a famous magazine wrote him as “Bigger than Bachchan” as his remuneration was staggering 1.25 crore which was unheard off during the time.

His 150th movie, titled ‘Khaidi No.150’ after his famous break through movie Khaidi, is getting ready at a brisk pace and looking at a Sankranthi release. Today, on 22nd September he completed 38 years in TFI as an actor.
