27 Modifications to be Made for OMG2

OMG 2, starring Akshay Kumar, has undergone 27 alterations, including the removal of Lord Shiva’s drunken form.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has finally granted the impending “OMG 2” with an adult-only classification, and the filmmakers have been instructed to make 27 alterations or revisions before the movie is set to be released on August 11th, 2023. Following the backlash after “Adipurush” and “Oppenheimer,” the board’s Examining Committee (EC) recommended “OMG 2” to the Revising Committee (RC) because the movie has a religious theme and the authorities didn’t want to take any chances.

The list of changes states that the disclaimer at the opening of the movie will be revised in accordance with the CBFC’s guidelines and will be shown together with a voiceover. Previously, Akshay Kumar played the part of Lord Shiva; going forward, he will play a devotee or messenger of God. Nandi mere bhakt…jo agya prabhu has also been added as a discussion. The creators eliminated the images of frontal n*dity and substituted them with appropriate images of Naga Sadhus.

The next audio clip is a conversation taken from a temple announcement that reads, “Bhagwan ko bhakti…mahilayein nahin dekh sakti,” referring to women. ‘O lal shirt waale bhaiya, baba ka dhyan karte rahe’ was used in its place. ‘Savoday’ was added to the school’s name.

Additionally, the sentence “Wahan madira chade hai” was changed, and the movie no longer makes any mention of alcohol. The narrative and associated graphics about the High Court were removed as well because they appeared to be rude and defamatory. Also taken down was a billboard advertisement for Mood X condoms. The rat poison bottle’s label was changed so that the term “rat” was no longer there.

References to the Shivling, Shri Bhagavad Gita, Upanishad, Atharvaved, Draupadi, Pandav, Krishna, Gopiyan, and Raasleela were also eliminated with consideration for Hindu sensibilities. Modifications were also made to the line “Taang kyun adhaaon?” that Akshay Kumar gave. The meditation and bathing scenes featuring Akshay Kumar’s character were also changed. Other significant Akshay Kumar moments that depicted him intoxicated were also changed.

The directions were also modified for a number of additional conversations, including “Bade baal dekh kar,” “Satya shivam sundaram,” “Hamara desh…peeche nahin hai,” and “Stree ki yoni.” There were a few offensive gestures removed from the “stree ki yoni” sequence as well. It has also been changed the moment where a judge was seen taking a picture inside the courthouse.

The wording and images in the scene where Pankaj Tripathi’s character Kanti interrogated a s*x worker about unnatural s*x were changed. Once more, the Dr. Prakah Kothari figure was shown discussing mast**rbation, but the dialogue and graphics have been changed. The word “Paap” was substituted for “Haram” in a conversation about mast**bation. Notably, the movie has moved from its initial Ujjain setting to a fictional one. The CBFC has also instructed the producers to take out any images or verbal allusions to specific people in positions of authority, such as Mahant.

In a few dialogues, the word “ling” has undergone a similar modification. In accordance with NCPCR (National Commission for Protection of Child Rights) recommendations, the boy’s s*xual conduct was toned down in the viral video. Last but not least, the board has requested that the amkers provide documentary proof for all the facts and figures regarding s*xual actions that are mentioned in the movie.

A total of 13 minutes of the movie have supposedly been cut. This movie marks Akshay Kumar’s first ‘A’-rated production in 12 years. His most recent film to receive a “A” rating was “Desi Boyz,” which starred Chitrangada Singh, John Abraham, and Deepika Padukone.

Amit Rai wrote and directed OMG 2, the follow-up to the 2012 film “OMG.” In addition to Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam Dhar also play key roles in the movie.
