There’s no doubt that 2021 started off on a highly promising note for Tollywood after 2020 turned out to be a year of unprecedented shocks. While 2021 did have its own share of shocks, in the form of the devastating 2nd wave of coronavirus, there’s no denying that it is now ending on a good note. Tollywood released several films this year, despite the pandemic, with the audience supporting the industry as always.
Like every other year, Tollywood faced its own shares of hits and misses this year, and is now heading into 2022 with bigger and brighter aspirations. A plethora of films were released this year, and of those, there have been phenomenal successes, some of which include Krack, Uppena, Naandhi, Jathi Ratnalu, Vakeel Saab, Love Story, Most Eligible Bachelor, Akhanda, Pushpa and Shyam Singha Roy.
At the same time, some of the less than impressive films, which bombed at the box office this year include Red, Alludu Adhurs, Check, Sreekaram, Rang De, Aranya, Wild Dog, Paagal, Sridevi Soda Center, Republic, Kondapolam, Maha Samudram, Romantic, Varudu Kaavalenu, Manchi Rojulochaie, Skylab and Lakshya.
