Director Sathish Selvakumar’s upcoming romantic drama 18 Miles, starring Ashok Selvan and Mirnaa, recently received praise from ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam. The team screened the 14-minute prologue at Madras Talkies and Mani Ratnam appreciated the elegance and attention to detail in the work.
He personally acknowledged everyone in the team, from Mirnaa and Ashok Selvan to editor Nash and the rest of the crew. Executive Producer Shivanand also shared encouraging words making the moment very special for the team.
Sathish mentioned that Mani Ratnam’s Kannathil Muthamittal had been a major inspiration for him as a filmmaker and receiving applause from him was extremely high.
The prologue of 18 Miles portrays a poignant love story between Tharana a Sri Lankan Tamil still affected by the ethnic genocide and an empathetic Indian naval officer who tries to comfort her.
The film features music by Siddhu Kumar, cinematography by Ezhil Arasu K, editing by Nash, art direction by M Devendran, co-direction by Amarnath Rajaram, and choreography by Azar.
