2016 has been one musical year for Telugu cinema with variety of tunes and composers coming up with different and popularistic music. When we are looking at a film, we may like one of two songs from it but to like an album altogether is highly unlikely and few films have achieved that feat. Sahasam Swasaga Saagipo
AR Rehman this year worked for a direct Telugu album even though it is a bilingual after a considerable gap. The song from the album, Vellipomakey has become the most listened and loved song of the year. And the entire album too helped the movie in recovering the costs under tough Demonetization effect.
Pelli Choopulu
The surprise hit album of the year. The album picked up after the movie released and stayed with audience especially youth with its innovative compositions. Vivek Sagar has proved his metal with this movie and he is looking for many more new opportunities.
Janatha Garage
Devi Sri Prasad once again has been the top composer of TFI. Previous year he had Srimanthudu, Kumari 21F and Son of Satyamurthy. This year his association with Jr. NTR has proved great for him and the actor. Janatha Garage with Nenu Local had found mileage before release and after release, Pranamam, Apple Beauty became hits too.
Oopiri
The feel good movie, Oopiri had songs to remember with best lyrical values courtesy Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry. Movie benefited big time with songs like Oka life, Podham, Door No and Eppudu okala undadu samayam. Music composed by Gopi Sundar connected with the audience once the movie released even better.
Nannaku Prematho
Devi Sri Prasad’s second hit album of the year with Jr. NTR was instant hit with songs like I wanna follow you, Love Me again. But the real chartbuster came after the release of the film in the title song, Nannaku Prematho. The BG Score for the film has also became a big hit.
Premam
The Malayalam classic remake used four tunes from the original, Evare and Bang Bang became instant hits and all the songs also found place among the audience once the movie released. Music by Rajesh Murugeshan and Gopi Sundar was highly appreciated and it helped the movie in becoming a success.
Nenu Shailaja
Devi Sri Prasad started off this year with musical hit like Nenu Shailaja. The song It’s a crazy crazy feeling is still among the popular songs of 2016. Even the break up song also became a huge hit. Ram scored a hit with this movie after some abyssmal performers.
A.. Aa
Anasuya Ramalingam vs Aananda Vihari directed by Trivikram Srinivas became a huge hit at the end of the summer and the songs like Vellipoke Shyamala found great audience after the release of the movie. A big hit for Mickey J Mayer after some lacklustre albums.
Sarrainodu
SS Thaman the music director who had been giving tough fight to DSP for top spot had two silent years in a row. After a major success like Race Gurram, he followed it up with several flops but found his rhythm in Sarrainodu once again for Allu Arjun. The songs like Blockbuster, Title track and you’re my MLA are still popular among the audience.
Soggade Chinni Nayana
Nagarjuna after Manam once again collaborated with Anup Rubens and the result was a good album. Including the title song, all four songs have become highly popular. Dikka dikka Dum, Vasthane, Nee navve become very popular after the release of the film too.
