Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu, the Telugu version of World famous quiz program, Who wants to be a Millionaire? that saw a great success in Hindi as Kaun Banega Crorepati still ruling the hearts of many Television viewers. The Telugu version debuted to a grand reception in the form of TVRs and TRPs with Akkineni Nagarjuna as the first time host. After the grand success, there were two successful seasons that became hugely popular for the hosting of Nagarjuna and famous catchphrases, Chinna break Chitekalo Vacchestha (Will be right back in a second). The TRPs dipped a bit towards the end of the third season with format becoming too similar and quite emotional.
Akkineni Nagarjuna, wanted to rest his hosting job at the juncture and concentrate on producing and acting films more. The move helped him to create box office success, but the makers had to find equally charismatic, if not better, host to run the show in the next season. Many thought it is tough to bring in a replacement for Nagarjuna, owing to his stylish attire and cordial behaviour. But the makers found Megastar Chiranjeevi to be a fit for the job.
Even Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna with their long standing good friendship did not mind the change and in fact, Nag welcomed Chiru to host and in the first episode it is said that Nag will participate in officially handing over the baton. The episodes that were supposed to telecast in December were then postponed at the request of the actor and the finally date is announced to be 30th January. Well lets see how Megastar will go about the job!
