It might sound a bit early to call this young model a star, but she has proved beyond doubt that she is a star in the making. Mani Ratnam, has a knack of picking up the best debutants in his films and after watching how Aravind Swamy, Madhavan have moulded their careers to become such huge stars and how, Siddharth and few others are still popular for their performances in his films, we cannot be less excited for this young model, Dayana Erappa, who is debuting with Mani Ratnam’s Chekka Chivantha Vaanam in Tamil and Nawab in Telugu.
The actress revealed to media how she got selected and what are her hopes from the film. “I couldn’t believe it first but then when I realised that Mani Ratnam’s office is really interested in giving me a chance as an actor, I immediately sent in my photos and have auditions twice. After two months, I got the call that I am in the project. After that, I met director Mani Ratnam for the first time and I was completely shell shocked. He broke the ice and complimented me on my auditions. I am right now working with theatre actors to improve my skills as an actor, ” told the actress.
She will be joining the ensemble of Vijay Sethupathi, Aravind Swamy, Simbhu, Arun Vijay, Jyothika, Aditi Rao Hydari soon. The movie has started shooting in February and few scenes of Simbhu and Aditi Rao Hydari are said to have been shot recently. The movie will have some political relevance to huge movement in Tamil Nadu in recent years, as per the reports. AR Rahman is composing the music of the film.
